Earth & Fire might be most famous for the hit "Weekend" [featured on Reality Fills Fantasy, MOVLP160] that propelled them into stardom in 1979. Hailing from The Hague's blossoming '60s rock scene, Earth & Fire were already a well-known Prog group in The Netherlands before they broke through internationally.
Their early psychedelic influences range from Led Zeppelin to Jefferson Airplane, with some touches of Focus's Prog prowess and Shocking Blue's sound, show on their debut album Earth & Fire (1970). Intricate melodies and song structures, sweeping organs and Jerney Kaagman's distinctive voice make Earth & Fire's early work one of Holland's best kept secrets.
